This report presents CenCITT activities at several levels of detail. Review of Programs describes the general approach, content and rationale for each of CenCITT's main activities. It is intended to describe how programs and their underlying projects fit together It is also intended to shed some light on how the projects collectively build an understanding and advancement of the science and engineering of pollution prevention. Technical Highlights provides 2-3 sentence encapsulations of technical accomplishments of individual research projects. It is organized to correlate to the programs introduced in Review of Programs. The next two sections, Project Listing and Project Status Reports provide individual project data and 1-3 page descriptions. The latter also provides a key to the Bibliography section at the end of the report. After Project Status Reports, listings of key personnel, the CenCITT Scientific Advisory Committee, external collaborators and statistics on funding and personnel are provided. An editorial note: where reference names appear (mostly in the Project Status Reports ), they normally do not list coauthors. Full author listings are in the Bibliography .
